And fwiw i pretty much suck at this, what im doing here; i dont really have the patience, and i have just enough ass burgers that irdc lol, not the best combo prolly. Anyway, i believe in Christ, ok, and i dont expect that any two of us would ever believe ezackly the same anyway? peace
I think I’m probably “spectrum,” too. Although at 61, not diagnosed, of course I’m not.

Next lady friend I’m going to let know way early. For starters, I have patchy skills, excellent social perception in some areas, not others. It’s like zen — hard to be aware of what you’re not aware! But just because I’m good at some areas, doesn’t mean the blind spots are deliberative.

Also finding out about sensory issues . .

For example, I will judge an otherwise okay restaurant very negatively if the place reeks of bleach. And it’s helpful finding out that other people aren’t passive in this regard. They’re just legit bothered less by it.
ya…its the noises that get me, sometimes. Which i mean like a clock ticking, even. Hate clocks lol

“There is a consensus among historians and theologians that Paul is the author of the First Epistle to the Corinthians (c. AD 53–54). The letter is quoted or mentioned by the earliest of sources and is included in every ancient canon, including that of Marcion of Sinope. . . ”

“ . . The most probable date for its composition is around AD 80–110, and there is evidence that it was still being revised well into the 2nd century. . . ”

——————

So, the Gospel of Luke was at least 25 years later, maybe more. And that’s plenty of time for something to move beyond “friend of a friend” to a particular person saying, Hey, I was there, I will stake my reputation.

Wikipedia is not perfect. But it’s a pretty good start.

hell, they were all dead by that point, no? I guess im still kinda out of the loop here, why are you, an ag/atheist, seeking to establish a literal resurrection again? Oh, maybe refuting it?

More saying, there’s a lot less to this claim than meets the eyes.

Evangelical Christians will sometimes list “the 500” in passing, as if there’s a whole lot behind it. And there just isn’t.

hey, if they cant read Buried with Him in death, raised to new life in Him, baptism iow, thats on them right. We also have Galileans (the code word), why do you stand there looking up into the sky? which would be a perfectly logical response in a literal scenario, right. Anyway, “5” and “100” are not that hard to figure out imo

But did they see Him come down in the same way they saw Him go up? Bc they were told by some authority or other, i forget who…an angel prolly appeared or something, for that? i think? Anyway, they were basically assured that they would, right

I guess my talking points so far are —

There are plenty of different meanings within life.

The “Utilitarian” ethics of John Stuart Mill are a pretty good example of ethics without religion.

Try to help others.

Try to do a lot of good in a lot of different ways.

The Bible is worthy of the same respect as an ancient book, like Shakespeare, but not more so.

The Bible actually has a lot of problems, but then, I guess so does Shakespeare.

ah. Not aware of any problems in the Bible, that might be interesting. Problems understanding, maybe, i mean i have plenty of those lol

realizing that i wasnt reading journalism helped a lot

When you are Quoted as saying “to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord” when you never said that,
So Paul never said that? What is your evidence that he did not say this?

idt its even ever xlated that way into English, Scooter. My fave rendition might be

“We are cock-sure, i tell you, and would prefer to be dead, and partying with Jesus in heaven”
