Future of Democracy

Authors Steven Levitsky ([Tyranny of the Minority]) and Stephen Vladeck ([The Shadow Docket]) discussed the future of democracy and the role of the Supreme Court. This event was part of the 2024 Tucson Festival of Books.

Stephen is a law professor at the University of Texas. I don’t know how understandable and flowing a writer he is. But he was a lively talker at this event!

His main point is that a lot of unsigned opinions from the Supreme Court have a big effect, too.

Ketanji Brown Jackson Is Redefining What It Means to Be a Liberal Justice

This sounds pretty good on the part of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. I might personally add, sending cases back to lower courts to fill in the gaps where our legislative branches have been slow to act ? ?
