I believe reminding ourselves that no party is perfect, helps to keep things into proper perspective and tames partisanship. Not only am I looking for the negatives of the Republican Party, but I'll also start another thread for the negatives on the Democrat side.

For Discussion...
What are the negatives of the Republican Party? Feel free to include negatives regarding their policy, platform, direction, etc.

Negatives:
1. President Trump offering expedited asylum to White Afrikaners based on conspiratory theories about a "white genocide" in South Africa. The issue I have with Trump's claims is that it's not backed by good evidence, and several fact checkers have debunked large parts of it. President Trump is not as open to accepting asylees from non-White countries which of course is one reason why some consider him to be racist or that he prioritizes his own race, at best.

Here's one source that fact checks Trump's claims on White genocide...

More will be added to the list, of course.

#2 President Trump is doing a lot of things on shaky legal grounds. For instance, was reading an article about his admin's attempt to revoke the visa of Columbia student Mahmoud Khalil. So far that has failed and it's because one judge says this, "The declaration from Khalil comes after a New Jersey federal judge ruled last month that the government’s use of an obscure immigration law to detain and deport him is “likely unconstitutional.”". Then there's his attempts to deport Venezuelans being blocked...

Trump-appointed judge blocks Alien Enemies Act deportations in Los Angeles area
By Updated on: June 2, 2025 / 7:37 PM EDT / CBS News

A judge in California on Monday blocked the Trump administration from using the wartime Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelan migrants in the Los Angeles area, ruling that the government hasn't promised adequate due process.

The ruling by U.S. District Judge John Holcomb — who was nominated by President Trump in 2019 — is the latest to limit the administration's controversial practice of rapidly deporting people accused of being members of the gang Tren de Aragua under the 1798 law, which allows removals during an "invasion" or "predatory incursion" of the United States. Courts in three other states have also blocked Alien Enemies Act removals, though under different arguments.

Perhaps in some cases, there are activists judges that are biased against Trump or some Democrats suing Trump admin just to oppose them no matter what, but in some cases Trump's admin brings it on themselves by rushing and not making sure they have strong legal grounds.
