“I love cable news; it’s like watching the Apocalypse in slow motion”

I used to watch it all day many years ago, but I gave it up. Too much negativity. So I just watch about an hour each day and then I'm done with it!

oh, i dont watch it at all, fwiw; i was quoting someone else
Pleased to meet you, selkie. After reading your intro, I can say that I was also there at one point in life... well not as a mom, but the transition from religion. I am still in the undecided camp when it comes to God's existence. I'm actually proud of that despite the peer pressure and labels that many atheists and theists try to impose on me.

Welcome to the forum. :)

Thank you. I tend to use Reddit for special interest topics, but Redditors can be really strident and in-your-face sometimes and I just wanted a peaceful, open-minded place to connect with others who are questioning or open to those of us who are. I think peaceful dialogue is the only way forward from the Hellscape that humans have created with their plethora of dichotomies requiring undying allegiance to paradigms that have little flexibility. It all feels a little scary to me and so I am thankful to have found this forum.
Hello, everyone. I will go ahead and introduce myself. I am a middle-aged woman reared in an Evangelical Christian tradition. Lost my faith in college and then began to trundle back toward it like a stunned and addled beast of burden when I had children because I was not at all sure I could be a good mom, so I followed my internal "good mom formula" and that included taking my children to church. Was all over the map for several years due to "poor fit" between my beliefs and the dogmas of every church I tried. Eventually settled on Catholicism in 2006 due to the mystical elements which I was quite drawn to at the time--relics, incense, rosaries, prayers to the dead (saints)--SIGN ME UP. My woo-woo side loved all of this, and I deliberately tuned out the distasteful things I did not agree with in order to "go along to get along" (such as contraception bans and "holy days of obligation", and Marian adoration). During the Pandemic I realized how relieved I was to have a "pass" on attending Mass weekly and how quiet and internally peaceful I felt without any religion at all. And that is basically where I am to this day. I do not attend church. I do not pray. I feel very much at peace with the state of my soul and I get along well with both people of faith and those without. I consider myself to be NEITHER a believer nor a non-believer. I don't have enough evidence to call it, so I will sit out the religion debates and just live my life the best way I know how without stressing about questions I can't answer.
Recently watched Guardians of the Galaxy volume 3. I'd give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. Guardians of Galaxy part 1 was probably the best out of the 3.

It's to the point where I dread watching sequels. Matrix part 1 and 2 were good, but part 3 and 4 were terrible. Another example is Fast and Furious part X. That movie was weird to say the least.
REALLYY! An innocuous self-help effort is stymied by your mind's mediocrity. I had hopes for your website but this action and the inability to start a thread has caused me to bug off.

That may seem harsh, but I'm actually more lenient than a lot of other forums. A lot of the popular forums, like religiousforums.com (scroll down to section on advertising), don't allow you to plug/promote your books and websites at all.

On our forum, you actually can mention your books on your profile and in other areas of the forums if you follow the guidelines.
Watched the DC superhero movie, The Flash. I wish I would have saw it in the theaters on big screen. Reminded me of some of the best Spider-Man movies.

Moderator comment: Posted by 2Dbunk1 elsewhere and moved here...

I recently released a self-help book with a commentary on the utilization of Classic Philosophy; the psyche and philosophy are intertwined. It is a brief 50-page read and is available on Amazon and wherever new books are sold.

Okay, but when I try to post a new thead all that comes up is: “Oops, something is wrong" with no hint of what to do next.

Try refreshing and then reposting again. If it happens again, please let me know the exact time and section you were trying to post in and I can find it easier that way.
