I see weak atheism as having a bad name for this reason. Many who hold that label don't come off as "neutral" as they say they are. Ironically, those that only stick to the agnostic label would fit the "weak" atheist label better since those types usually do come off as being neutral or on the fence.
 
I have not seen anything new from the New Atheists. Me thinks the interest for atheism and Christianty is dead.
