And then maybe say, “Wow, you’re cutting edge.”

That is, almost make a conscious decision to find it humorous rather than angry-making. [and dear reader, you yourself have probably had success at that at one time or another! ]

And I almost idealize bartenders as being street smart. Well . . . not always.

And maybe no more thought behind it than signs at an [American] football rally. Of which I probably ought to put up a couple of examples!

I think the bar atmosphere helps. The bartender being in the bar environment will evolve to be light-hearted about life's problems. Either that or he has to drink it away.

This refers to Tom Brady and “Deflate-gate,” the the claim that footballs were under-inflated before a half.

And the intent is not to be accurate. If that happens, it’s almost an accident.

The intent is clever wordplay and insults, pumping up “our” side and knocking down the other side. And too much of American politics has become this.
