But then, these itchy lacey collars for a girl, or a too-tight tie for a boy not used to wearing a tie at all. And for both boys and girls, shoes that pinch that you can’t wait to get out of.
And then, to be expected to pose for endless photos, and then taken to a restaurant which is “nice” but which is over-crowded and as slow as molasses!
Oh, yeah, the sugaring-up is not just chocolate rabbits, but pancakes with lots of carbs and syrup. Maybe if the syrup has honey or maple syrup, it’s a smidge healthier but only a smidge.
Anyway, the day is fraught with disappointments for both parents and kids!
Even if the pastor does give a good sermon on “The Road to Emmaus.” On the theme that you’ll never know who you’re going to meet.
