When someone says that "Washington is broken", that usually means that the way business is done in Washington DC is very poor. A Gallup poll done this year shows that about 70% of Americans have a negative view of Congress. I think it's fair to say that WAshington is broken when the people that it is meant to serve have an overwhelmingly negative view of it, and that's across both or all parties.

In this thread, I want to know why or the reasons for Washington being broken and how to fix it.
I honestly think 2008 then candidate Obama nailed it on the head during this debate with Hilary Clinton,
(start at the 6:45 minute mark).

While Obama talked about lobbyists stranglehold on politicians, I think there is a lot of other big problems that leads to Washington being broken. So let's hear your thoughts and solutions.
