A friend of mine thought that digital money, such as cryptocurrency, was pointless because you can just use a credit card. I'll share some of my thoughts on that here.

There are some similarities in that you can use both over the computer, but the big difference is that one is your money while the other is credit that you have to pay back. That's the big difference. Although, there are debit cards that you can use online and it's your money, as well. I still see a difference in terms of the currency. Cryptocurrency is kept track of on Blockchain technology while US currency is kept track of in the banks.

Any other differences or similarities that I'm missing?
