In my opinion, the best book on ethics in the English language. Written in the broad tradition of Utilitarianism (Principle of Utility), which I think is at least a B+ theory of ethics.

But again, I don’t think the field has really advanced all that far. For example, most of the jobs seem to be as professors, with maybe a few jobs in hospitals.
 
Best I could come up with is that, as we live, we gather evidence and experiences that all fit into a sort of interconnected web of supported "facts."
