A relative of mine believes that dreams can be prophetic or about the future. An example of a dream that she gave me seemed real vague but yet she interpreted it as something literal. I didn't press the issue too much because I usually don't share my non belief with family members.
The first thing that comes to my mind is how we can know which dream is from God or not. Then I'd question how we can know what dream means.
I've noticed that there's no real criteria to dream interpretation; it's subjective.
Despite that, I still wouldn't dismiss dreams as being nothing. I certainly would need more than a dream to go by, like having some real world evidence and clear signs before taking them seriously.
For debate:
1. Is there a reasonable way to interpret dreams?
2. Should God give you messages that are clear to understand? Why would he rely on visions or dreams that are vague?
