My favorite part may have been the Women’s Marathon on the last day. There are parts of the course, where as long as you stay on your side of the fence, you can run along with the Olympic runners. Love it!
One controversy was a performance by drag queens at a festival. Some Conservatives interpreted that to be a mockery of the Last Supper, but it appears that this performance was about a festival involving Dionysus, the god of wine-making. There was also a boxer competing in the women's division who was thought to be a male. No one is really talking about those issues as much now.
Overall, I thought the Olympics were good this time around.
I had several transgendered co-workers at Walmart. I think it’s good that the company is into equal rights. What’s crummy about Walmart is that they jack you around on your schedule.
I’ve read that some people can have XY chromosomes, which means the person would usually develop as a male. But if the person has a greater ratio of estrogen over testosterone, she’s developed female traits and have lived her whole life as a female, 1st as a girl and then as a woman. And she’d find it really weird if you were to tell her she’s not a female.

With people who transition, it’s a different situation. But I’m all in favor of people living true to their selves. So, if someone feels in their heart that they’re female and that God or nature has made a mistake, I’m glad it’s possible in the modern age for a person to transition. I mean, hormones and surgery.
Stephen has an eye condition in which he has to wear thick glasses. But it kind of played to strength as he got this whole “Clark Kent / Superman” vibe going. Backed up by his gymnastic success.
Simone Biles
It’s like Simone’s third Olympics. And Wow, she really takes it to another level.
Some Conservatives interpreted that to be a mockery of the Last Supper, but it appears that this performance was about a festival involving Dionysus, the god of wine-making.
I didn’t see the similarity to Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper the 1st time. But after the controversy, I saw the similarity the 2nd time.
I wouldn’t do it that way.
Meaning, I wouldn’t flirt with borderline blasphemous art.
I’d want to keep the whole ceremony short and sweet. People mainly want to see the athletes anyway.
In other areas, I like brave art. I like “equal opportunity offender” comedies and movies. But not when you kind of have a captive audience.
I’ve seen a spoof of Leonardo’s Last Supper showing classic movie actors from the 1940s and 50s, with one of them being Humphrey Bogart. I’d be surprised if there wasn’t one with famous baseball players.
But again, not when you have a captive audience. Or, I guess a semi-captive audience.
