How will the world end?

Many of the major religions predict that the world will come to an end. For instance, many Christians believe that we will go through apocalyptic times involving wars, pandemics, mass moral decay, etc. Of course, there are a lot of other scenarios involving contact with extraterrestrials (like in the movie, Independence Day), asteroids hitting Earth, zombie apocalypse, etc.

For Debate:
1. How is the world most likely to end? Will it end?
2. Can we do anything about it? How would you prep for it?

How is the world most likely to end? Will it end?

I think the most likely scenario will be the world ending through war, especially when weapons of mass destruction are at play. And now there's different types of war ranging from psychological warfare to military combat. Then again, all a country has to do is develop some virus and release it on the human population.

Can we do anything about it? How would you prep for it?

I'd like to think someone will step in and bring about world peace.
