Featured Yes, 12 Disciples were men, but women respected and found empty tomb . . . is this enough so women can be preachers, too?

The canon of scripture ended with the Revelation of Jesus Christ. There cannot be any additional "revelations". God has provided everything needed for mankind to live by through the 66 books of the Bible. Any later additions are not considered inspired by God. Here is a good link that explains...

Well, I can’t speak to the mental process of either Christian or atheist child molesters. In my eyes molesting a child is worse than murder and should result in immediate death for the molester.

If men like Joseph Campbell represent Christianity, then according to this article, men like Jeffery Dalmer must represent atheists: https://skepchick.org/2017/08/people-think-serial-killers-are-more-likely-to-be-atheist/ I don't think it is fair to judge the majority by the acts of the few.

You have a valid point. Acts like this are abhorrent, disgusting and inexcusable. Especially when committed by so called "Godly men". I can understand why these atrocities would turn people away from Christianity. However, Christ never did anything like this. I follow Christ, not Christian men...

Gospel of Mark, chapter 9, “clothes . . far whiter than any earthly bleach“ — was bleach at all common in ancient Israel? Looks like it was!

Here’s a more accurate translation: Mar 9:3 - And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. In the Greek, there’s no mention of bleach.

1 Cor.5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: I hold the opposite opinion than you. I believe this verse confirms the canon of scripture. God ensured we have the exact writings He intended for us to have. Obviously, Paul’s previous letter was not inspired by God, and...

And who made up these councils? Preachers, pastors, elders, bishops. Godly men who sought God's will and direction. It wasn't made up of atheists and agnostics using human logic and feelings. I'm confident that the God who created everything out of nothing was able to use Godly men to preserve...

Why are some female teachers sleeping with students?

I don't know that there is an actual increase. I graduated in the early 80's and there were rumors of teachers and students back then. But, in those days there were no cell phones with cameras or social media. If it was happening, people did not talk about it. I could be dead wrong though...

I’m not elevating Paul above anyone. Paul considered himself the chief of sinners. However, we do believe God inspired the writings of Paul. Not all of his writings were inspired though. Paul mentioned a previous letter to the Corinthian church that we don’t have. So it isn’t Paul I’m promoting...

Featured Yes, 12 Disciples were men, but women respected and found empty tomb . . . is this enough so women can be preachers, too?

No, Paul was consistent in his position on women. The problem lies in the fact that a Godless society cannot comprehend the Bible. In today's culture, the Biblical position concerning women probably does appear sexist. The Biblical stance on homosexuality comes across as homophobic to today's...

God didn’t forbid women from being surgeons, politicians, astronauts or construction workers. He said they are not qualified to be pastors, deacons nor have any authority over men in His church.

    Is 2 Timothy 2:11-12 sexist?

The writer is the Apostle Paul. Paul made it very clear that his positions were taught to him from Jesus, Himself. Gal.1:11-12 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation...

    Is 2 Timothy 2:11-12 sexist?

Also realize, not all men are qualified to be pastors or leaders in church. I know several women who are much more qualified than a lot of men. Therefore the overwhelming majority of men are as unqualified to be leaders in the church as women are.

Featured Yes, 12 Disciples were men, but women respected and found empty tomb . . . is this enough so women can be preachers, too?

You are absolutely correct. There is nothing wrong with women teaching children or other women. They are simply forbidden from teaching men.

    Is 2 Timothy 2:11-12 sexist?

No this is not sexist at all. God has appointed headship of the home as well as the church to men. Not because women are inferior in any way. Even Jesus, God in the flesh, submitted to the Father. Jesus prayed not His will be done but the Father’s will. Anything with two heads will ultimately...

The Bible expressly forbids women from being pastors or deacons. The qualifications for both requires them to be the husband of one wife. Also, the Bible forbids women from exercising authority over men. 1 Tim.3:1-2 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a...

Is it biblical to pray to dead people?

When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, He gave the model sermon which begins "Our Father which art in Heaven..." Jesus does not suggest we pray to anyone other than the Father. Jesus does not say we should pray to any particular "saint" for specific requests. Believers should only...

Peter denied Jesus three times. So, Jesus gave Peter three opportunities to express his love for Him.

Pray for Pope Francis, and for what he prays for.

While we're at it, let's go ahead and look at this statement from Pope Francis: https://www.christianpost.com/news/pope-francis-claims-all-religions-are-a-path-to-god.html To claim all religions are paths to God indicates to me that Francis did not actually know the one true way to God...Jesus...
