“new inflation report released Wednesday showed prices were 9.1% higher than a year ago”

=============

I’d like to learn how to easily and confidently look up this governmental data.

And maybe a non-governmental source as well?

BLS = Bureau of Labor Statistics

“Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 9.1 percent before seasonal adjustment.”

“ . . over the past 12 months. The gasoline index increased 59.9 percent over the span, the largest 12-month increase in that index since March 1980. . ”

============

So, we see that U.S. gas prices have increased 60% over the last year.

Biggest such upward climb in 40+ years.
