Matthew chapter 16, verse 19 “ . . and whatever you bind on earth is already bound in heaven, . . “ — yet another binary on salvation? ??

I’m making a connection that (1) Salvation is a Big Thing (2) which is made Permanent. and certainly could be one of the things which Peter can “whatever you bind on earth,” if he so chooses with this new authority given to him. Weird and unexpected that Jesus would give this kind of power to...

Matthew ch 16, verse 23, Jesus says to Peter “Get behind me, Satan!” . . . Did Jesus later give Peter an apology?

Mark, chapter 8 — did Jesus later apologize to Peter for saying “Get away from me, Satan!” ? ?? This is the same part in a different Gospel. And I think the same lack of an apology.

Matthew chapter 16, verse 19 “ . . and whatever you bind on earth is already bound in heaven, . . “ — yet another binary on salvation? ??

I’ll tell, the Jesus character sounds like a poet who really enjoys a turn of phrase. A little like he’s an early Country&Western singer. Jesus was probably a real guy, but a lot of lore and legend got put on him.

If I was a rich person who owned a media outfit . . . I’d at least think about not mentioning the guy’s name until the trial. I mean, some of these murders are seeking some kind of misplaced glory. Don’t give it to them.

If I was a journalist . . . I’d be cautious and respectful in covering this story, and okay with the fact that I might be outcompeted by other journalists who aren’t.

And the fact this young man was shoot while answering a question about guns and shootings, just too coincidental. As if it was a set up. Did one of the characters say this, or better yet, is this your own guitar riff on what one of the characters may have said? And there it is, it’s out on the table. And we can talk about it. Alright, I’m not sure I’m a great fan of “dualism.” We humans are also capable of speaking and...

And when he first lands on the planet, he’s looking for Yoda. And I guess he’s envisioning someone physically larger. He’s patient with Yoda, I guess the same way someone might be patient with a younger brother. Luke said, “I’m looking for someone.” Yoda said, “Found someone, you have.”

"If there is no God, then anything is permitted."

If we want to embark on the dismal task of comparing the numbers of human beings killed in (1) Nazi Germany, and (2) Soviet Union, The Soviets probably killed more, but they were around for longer. Yes, the Soviets were atheists, and I think that was official policy. But if we look at the...
