“Since Hurricane Helene decimated parts of western North Carolina last week, former President Donald Trump has seized on the tragedy to perpetuate lies about the federal response, sowing chaos and confusion as officials scramble to help those affected.

“In recent days, Trump has repeatedly and falsely suggested that the federal government is purposely neglecting areas with Republican voters, . . ”

Because that’s what Trump did. And he’s projecting this onto others.

During his presidency, Donald J. Trump didn’t want to give aid to parts of California affected by wildfires because it’s a Democratic state — until presidential aides pointed out, Hey, Orange County is a pretty Republican place.

Dear Reader,

I suspect you’ve had a boss who has not followed the reality person, and you learned how to be a bridge person.

But it’s so much better when you have a boss who is connected with reality! And that’s what I’m saying. :D

Good article, Lemur. Thanks for posting. Yeah, I definitely agree that on this specific issue regarding FEMA running out of money because they've spent it on illegal migrants is false.

In terms of validity, one problem with his claim is that he is mixing different issues. I agree with those on his side that say the government (both are responsible, but Biden hasn't made it any better) has allowed the border problem to continue and that comes with having to spend a lot of money supporting migrants when that money could instead be spent on helping citizens. So he's trying to play to his tactic of blaming the border crisis for a lot of our problems.

Typical politics...

I actually don't think Trump was running much of anything. It was more like he appointed others to do the job for him, and he just manages things. I remember an old manager I used to have when I worked at grocery store in my teens. I hardly saw the guy step out of the office much to do anything BUT, he was good at delegating tasks so much so that his work was practically being done for him.
