Should undocumented migrant farmers be deported?

CNN reports on Trump saying that immigrant farmers can still "for a while" but that they would eventually be deported. The report continues on saying that the undocumented farmers can return through a legal process.

President Donald Trump said his administration will work with immigrant farmers who are in the country illegally that if they have “strong recommendations for their farms,” they will be able to remain in the US “for a while.”

“We’re also going to work with farmers, that if they have strong recommendations for their farms, for certain people, we’re going to let them stay in for a while and work with the farmers,” the president said during a Cabinet meeting at the White House.

Trump said the undocumented farmers will eventually be deported, but the administration would work with them so they can come back through a legal process.

“Work with the farmers, and then come back and go through a process, a legal process, but we have to take care of our farmers,” he said.

To me, this is a stupid plan. My thinking is that if we need them, why deport them at all and have them go through a legal process to come right back? Keep them here! Just seems totally inefficient process.
