Ana Navarro said the following on The View:
“Look, America, you know, those of you who voted for Trump: This is what you wanted. This is what you voted for. You screwed around and you’re about to find out.”
... full video here...
(watch from :58 to 3:00 minute marks)

With this statement, not only is she saying that you get what you voted for, but she's also using that as a reason to say why people should have voted for the other party.

As an independent, I see that as a very partisan point. Of course, many Hispanics and others did not vote for Trump so that he could be cruel to undocumented immigrants, but they voted for him because he would still do a better job despite his negatives. In other words, voting for Trump does not mean you would agree with all of Trump's policies, but rather (to some) he was the lesser of two evils.

Besides that point, Ana Navarro doesn't mention her own solution to fix immigration, and fails to bring up how even the Democrats have done a bad job under Biden's presidency. So the logic that Trump is doing bad, therefore, you should've voted Democrat is flawed unless the Democrats would've done a better job (which they proven to not to have done).

Ideally, Republicans, Democrats, and all others need to support Trump's good policies, and speak up more and resist when it comes to his bad policies. This is to contrast with some of the Democrats response to resist anything Trump, both the good and bad policies.

But they didn't vote for this!

I mean, what are the sexual politics of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem dressing sexy in front of half-naked men in the El Salvador prison ? ! ?

Looks like she's had some work done and is showing it off.

That pic is bad optics, but honestly wouldn't factor into my vote one way or another since I don't see it having any bearing on policy.

My thought process is, yeah, it's bad how Trump is enforcing immigration, (It's not all around bad, but just some practices), but how does that weigh against the job of Biden's administration. Who was worst?

This is a picture the Trump administration wanted. It almost looks like a choreographed ballet!

And it helps to promote the idea that Trump is “tough,” all mistakes to the contrary like appointing inexperienced people to national security.

They say— You have to go hard at the beginning and communicate crystal clear.
Second pic is good, imo. I don't mind projecting strength and causing fear to immigrants who commit crimes while in the US.

Read reports that only men affiliated with gangs were being deported to El Salvador prisons, but then came across one where there were also 8 women but El Salvador officials refused to take them in.

I think I've made my views on immigration clear. We need a grand bargain of Earned Amnesty + Guest Worker with the Right of Moving Between Companies.

Here's a speech President George W Bush gave in 2006 —

https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/address-the-nation-immigration-reform
“I believe that illegal immigrants who have roots in our country and want to stay should have to pay a meaningful penalty for breaking the law: to pay their taxes; to learn English; and to work in a job for a number of years. People who meet these conditions should be able to apply for citizenship, but approval would not be automatic, and they will have to wait in line behind those who played by the rules and followed the law. What I've just described is not amnesty; it is a way for those who have broken the law to pay their debt to society and demonstrate the character that makes a good citizen.”

Starting at the back of the line is important for both the perception and the reality of fairness.

I'm not crazy about making learning English a requirement, especially for older persons. Especially since I myself am not great at learning languages. I mean, I tried to learn Spanish in 7th grade at age 12.

However, if I was one of the two Texas Senators, I'd be prepared to vote for an immigration bill just as above. Because I think getting some immigration bill, even a non-perfect bill, is better than no bill.

Sometimes someone will say, Look, immigrants commit crimes at a lower per capita rate than do American citizens.

If it is true . . .

That would kind of mean there'd be no problem with immigration.

This shows that the Trump administration is sloppy. Like the guy who was given status in 2019, but now Trump & Co don't want to bring him back.

Last week at my local bar, one of the angry right-wingers said he'd support it even if half of them were “misfires,” meaning not part of the Venezuelan gang.
Later, he asked me how many I thought were not members of the gang. And I said, It's probably about 50-50. And he got angry!

Later edit — a lot of the right-wingers are more optimistic individuals and don't get angry so quickly.

Part of the errors is because Trump is trying to bypass the courts. Trump has been using the Alien Enemies Act for rapid deportations but hopefully they put something in place when there are mistakes.

That guy that was accidentally deported probably didn't have a green card otherwise Trump admin couldn't get away with this like they have now. I question why that person can't be put on a fast track process to come back into the country. He has family here, I assume he didn't have criminal record...

I go back and forth on this. On the one hand, I don't like seeing these guys “wheelbarrowed” on their very first day when they've done nothing as far as breaking the prison rules. This is not the norm for US prisons, and I'm not sure it's suddenly okay just because we out-source it.

On the other hand, I can agree with the abstract that a teacher needs to be firm and organized the beginning of a new school year, and then it's okay to slowly ... slowly loosen up rules and procedures. These men are of course not children, but they are in an institution.
