I think Francis tries to call a priest working in Gaza every day he can.

I'm in favor of the refugees, course I am. I even hope for the hard cases. For the people whose gate got the best of them and who participated in the October 7 attacks, and the holding of hostages. I guess I hope for . . . . . a particular person will wind his or her way to a place in which they see revenge is not the way forward.

That maybe art, yes, art, is a better way of commemorating a past injustice . . .

as we build a better world. Yes, something like this.

Yes, we can pray for Pope Francis and some of the issues he thinks are important and some of the issues each of us think are important.

I've been keeping up with the news on him. He has been in the hospital battling pneumonia for over a week. I believe he was on life support at one point, but that has been gradually decreased as he gets better. He's 88 years-old. Sendin all of my positive thoughts his way.🙏📿

Weds March 5, 2025, “Ash Wednesday” —

.

"Afterwards, he engaged in several work activities. During the morning, he also called Father Gabriel Romanelli, the parish priest of the Holy Family Church in Gaza.

"In the afternoon, he alternated between rest and work."

Calling the parish priest every day he can. Letting him know he appreciates his steadfast work, difficulties and imperfections all. That's the way I'd do as a 62-yr-old!

Maybe Pope Francis does it a different and better way! :)

He's on track to getting better.

You said what you'd do as someone in their 60's. Pope Francis is 88. I'm kinda thinking of how Biden's presidency went because of his age. I hope Pope Francis considers stepping down and get the vetting process started for another younger Pope.

I'm glad the Pope's doing better. :)

As far as Presidents . . .

I already miss President Biden who didn't feel the strong need to be in the news each and every day. President Trump is delegating too much to Elon Musk who is in turn delegating too much to his young hot shots.

If I'm not mistaken President Trump will be older at the end of his turn than President Biden was at the end of his. And yes, I think President Biden should have announced maybe the Summer of 2023 that it was the honor of his life but he wouldn't be seeking a 2nd term.

According to the Vatican, she miraculously cured a young woman diagnosed with a type of hydrocephalus, a condition in which cerebrospinal fluid builds up within the brain.

Her condition had worsened until a Mass was celebrated before Rendiles’ grave. Loved ones prayed for her recovery. And after the sick woman touched Rendiles’ portrait, her health improved.

“The young woman’s recovery was complete, stable and long-lasting, and the event was deemed scientifically inexplicable,” the Holy See said in a written statement.

As a good-hearted agnostic, I'll say miracles take place every day of the week and twice on Sunday, but . . . just not on schedule.

People heal all the time.

And most religious people believe we should use the talents God gave us. I mean, doctors, nurses, and paraprofessionals such as physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

Devout Catholics in Venezuela certainly want to have their first female saint. Pope Francis had to decide whether or not to allow this process to continue forward. And he decided, Yes, this is a genuine miracle. And therefore, Blessed María Carmen Rendiles I think will be eventually canonized as a Saint ? ??
[I think this is the correct terminology]

I'll create a topic to talk about this more.

“On Saturday, the eve of Holy Week, Francis went to the St. Mary Major Basilica in central Rome to pray privately before a favorite icon of the Virgin Mary, Salus Populi Romani. The basilica, which he typically visits before and after his foreign trips, was also his first stop after leaving the Gemelli hospital on March 23.”

This sounds like a good rhythm for trips, as long as you don’t make it too hard and fast a rule. At least that’s how I might try to approach it. :)

Even retired people work from time to time, usually doing something that they love and being able to take it easy and set their pace at the same time. The Pope should have that option.
