ORANGE COUNTY EXECUTIVE <New York state> ON LESSONS LEARNED AFTER VISITING FRONTLINES

January 13, 2025 —

"When you have an issue like this, nip it in the bud," Neuhaus said. "Send in all your resources at once. Call in mutual aid. Call in the cavalry before it gets out of control."

Go hard at the beginning. Good advice.

When you're successful, you'll going to be accused of going overboard, being an alarmist, etc, etc. This also is part of life.

Wow, doesn't that look apocalyptic.

Good advice in the first post. Another issue for me is that we need to improve on the technology to get rid of fires. I'm surprised given all of our scientific advancements that we don't have something that would neutralize a fire in a heartbeat.

Maybe my expectations are too high. But unlike hurricanes and tornadoes, at least you can put all or most fires out.

Yeah, like the Day the Earth Died. lol

Good news in latest reporting ...the winds are dying down and firefighters can better contain the fire.
