I mean, I think we lost our moment!

And do it right. Talk it over with your spouse first and foremost. Tell the rest of your family. Start putting in calls to your fellow Senators and/or Governors, and a courtesy call to President Biden pretty much at the same time. Tell him you expect to continue to learn from him and be inspired.

No, Sir, I don’t have confidence you’re going to be good for another 4 and a half years, I’m sorry.

If three people announce that weekend, it’s generally a done deal.

And please remember, the 3,933 delegates going to the Democratic National Convention are only bound by “good conscience,” even that first round of voting. And frankly seeing that President Joe Biden, who I think has served us well as a centrist president whatever Fox News says, is in declining powers and facing another 4 and a half years, I don’t see how in good conscience a plan-ahead delegate could vote for him.

And who is Jon Tester —

Democratic Senator from the red state of Montana. Plus, a big beefy fellow and that helps!

I agree. The earlier the better. It's still not too late for someone else to step in, although I question if it would lead to some infighting if several people think they should be the chosen one and/or Biden doesn't want to step aside. If the Democrats can put together a VP/Pres. candidates that are up to the task and can deliver a policy and unite their party, and do so before the Democratic National Convention, then that would put them back on track to having a good chance to win in November.

Now, it is taking a chance. But a chance is better than a likely loss this November.
I'll also have to look up more about VP Kamala Harris. I honestly can't remember there being any real negatives about her or her policy. She's already familiar with Biden's national plan, she has the next best thing to a presidential experience - so why not?! Maybe a Kamala/Whitmer 2024 ticket?🤔

I think she’d make a fine President.

However, Vice President Harris is the one candidate tied by loyalty who cannot morally announce before President Biden steps down.
I also think she has would make a good president since she has a lot of good qualities. Plus, I'd like to see a woman president some day.

If anything, I would just hope that the Dems. don't screw up like the Republicans did when they ousted House speaker McCarthy. They ousted the guy without having any replacement and then couldn't settle on who to be the new House speaker until after several rounds of voting. The Democrats better have a replacement in mind and have all these pieces in place before pushing Biden out - time is against them here, as well.

This is a valid, recent example. But I’ll tell you, I’d rather take that risk than just stand pat.

There’s a story I heard that I like about Martin Luther King, Jr. Supposedly, some of his fellow activists were worried about a particular march, that if we march, this might happen or that might happen. Martin said, I’m worried about what’s going to happen if we don’t march.

So . . .

I’m worried about what’s going to happen if someone doesn’t challenge Biden.
