Finding meanings within life without religion.

Some religionists would say that a person can't have purpose and meaning without religion. I disagree with them. But I am curious if their point is valid in other ways, like if there's a certain type of meaning that one should have and the satisfaction that comes from that. When someone brings up a "higher purpose", they are usually referring to having a purpose that goes beyond your own needs and wants. It's not to say that finding meaning in sex and loving relationships with people is wrong, but I'd ask if that's all someone should have or is there more to life that such a person is missing out on? And does finding that purpose leave one more satisfied with life than not having it.

A lot of religious persons will say, “Relationship with God” as first and foremost.
I’d add helping others, or trying to help others in respectful ways, adding skills and getting better at this over time.

Co-workers who are dedicated, talented, and appreciative is what we all dream of.
And adventures.
And/or a boss just as good.

Well we can even narrow it down. What would you say your meaning of life is? (if too personal you don't have to share). Do you have an overarching one or two that impacts your life in a major way?
I'd say mines would be to combat division. I think that needs to be done in a lot of areas of life ranging from religion to politics. In a sense, I'd like to think that's what help lead me to agnosticism. It actually led me to create this website. And yes, I know I need to expand that reach even beyond this platform.

At age 61, I’m very open to finding a wife, if and when this magic happens.
And I feel that I’m good at distilling down ideas. I try to give the executive summary in which I make the working assumption that my reader is slightly smarter than I am, because I feel my writing then turns out better.

And his main advice is— Go Modular if you possibly can. He thinks this is so important that you should move Heaven and Earth in order to go modular. Because then your team can learn at each and every stage and go better and faster. And the final project will turn out both better and cheaper.
On the spirituality front . . .
I’d like to learn more from Native American spirituality and/or Buddhism.
With Christianity, or at least the Protestant version, I kind of feel I’ve been there, done that.

Compared to regular Buddhism, zen is a much lighter thing and maybe unrealistically so.
Look, we’re all a combo of good and bad. I guess the goal is to learn skills, both to damage-control our bad sides AND to make the best of our good sides.
