In my view, Christianity has failed to deal with homosexuality. I say this because Christianity claims that homosexuality is wrong. Yet, it seems, that most Christian interventions (prayer, conversion therapy, etc.) for homosexuality are ineffective or even harms a person even more. One big mistake that some Christians make is not educating themselves about homosexuality. It's one thing to learn what your faith says about it but you also have to learn about what a homosexual person thinks about it and what the science says about it. Understand what they're going through before you act.
How can you make an effective treatment plan, if you can't even show that something even needs treatment, and/or if you don't even understand the condition? I'm sure a lot of Christian parents do not know how to handle a child that comes out as being gay.
