A pretty good sound byte, right?

That’s what I might say if Democratic Senator from Texas announcing that I’m seeking the presidency and announcing that I’m asking for the votes of the 3,933 Democratic delegates, who might be asked to vote early in some kind of “virtual roll call” around July ?? 21. It’s fluid.

But our two Texas Senators are both Republicans. And my life has gone a different route than electoral politics.

And at this point, I’d need to wait till after Hurricane Beryl hits Texas Monday morning. And then maybe till Wednesday until President Biden declares a federal disaster so that affected areas can get money.

I’d be polite and respectful to President Biden throughout.

I’d skillfully punch at President Trump and hope that he’d hit back.

In all likelihood, I don't see Biden stepping down. If anything he is doubling down trying to get even more public exposure by doing more interviews and public speaking events.

I think this will have to be looked at as a risk/benefit decision. Do the benefits of leaving Biden outweigh the risks? Perhaps with risks being internal fighting and division in the Democrat party if Biden doesn't step down. The Democrat party having this public fight is not making their party nor candidate look good at all, although it may inevitably become public since the mainstream media is so involved.

Yes!

At least to me. But I guess that’s why there’s chocolate and vanilla. People can disagree.

I think one huge benefit of keeping Biden as the candidate is that he is battle tested. We know how he'd respond to pressure and he's pretty good at avoiding huge screw ups, barring his debate performance which is something he can make up for in the next debate.

Other candidates, even some of the moderate ones you mentioned, I'm not so sure about. Being on a national stage tends to bring out one's qualities more than anything else. It will show if you are really a good leader. If you can handle pressure, deal with the media, deal with tough competition, especially involving Trump, etc. I've seen guys (maybe some women, as well) who were good governors and appeared to be good leaders overall just fold when it came to a presidential/national campaign.

President Biden will be the best President for the next year and a half. After that, I’m not so sure.

Let’s say, Governor Gretchen Whitmer runs and wins—

Likely that first year she’ll be learning and won’t be as good as President Biden. But after that, she’ll be hitting her stride, and former President Biden will be in declining powers.

Agreed. She at least has executive experience as a governor which I would say is more experience than President Obama had. So I think someone with her level of experience could still do good. What's left is her policies.
