It’s called the sin nature. People are capable of extreme violence and cruelty. Even those who are considered tame and docile. Sin can turn the kindest person into a monster.

But there’s nothing mythic about the Bible. The Bible is true from Genesis to Revelations. I understand pulling principles from the Bible and creating myths from them but it’s not possible to fit Biblical doctrines into secular patterns.

But no mention of the dark side, the force, Jedi, or the Sith. You can see opposing forces in almost every Louis L’Amour novel. That does not mean God uses the Sacketts to tell His story.

Correct. Jesus does not accept sin but He does meet sinners in their brokenness. However, He does not leave them in their brokenness unless they choose to remain that way. Jesus made dramatic changes in the lives of people who believed in Him. This is not actually true. The Bible does not refer...

I can be in an environment where people are drinking, such as a restaurant. However, I do not go to bars because as a Christian, I follow the precept of abstaining from all appearances of evil. It’s not a good look for a believer to be hanging out in a bar, even if he isn’t drinking.

If you meant Jesus, then this is absolutely untrue. Make friends with their dark side? Accept all aspects of themselves? Show from the scripture where Jesus accepted someone’s sin.

Well, it is bad for me. I am a former alcoholic so I avoid all alcohol. Also, as a preacher, I try to abstain from all appearance of evil. As a married man, I spend time with my wife and family. I don’t go out with friends unless my wife goes with me. The best way to avoid partaking of the...

This statement is not true. Jesus loved the outcasts and He invited them to come to Him. Jesus in no way stood in solidarity with sinners. His invitation to outcasts was to follow Him. This too is false. Jesus did not neglect anyone. He ministered to everyone without respect of person.

Oh, I enjoy the life God has given me. I shoot pistol matches almost every weekend. Most of the people I shoot with are not believers. But when the match is over I don’t go the restaurant with them because I know they will be drinking. I don’t want to be in that environment. I enjoy movies that...

Yes, however Jesus did not participate in their sins nor approve of their sins. Jesus specifically said He was not of this world (John 8:23). Jesus also said His followers are not of this world (John 17:16). I have no problem interacting with nonbelievers. I just don’t follow their lifestyles...

I’m in this world but I’m not part of this world. I may have to interact with nonbelievers but I do not have to agree with or participate in their actions. This world is not my home. I’m just passing through.

2 Cor.6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. John 17:14-16 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that...

Featured Does the Old Testament make any reference to the Trinity?

I would disagree with you. At the baptism of Jesus, all three persons of the trinity were present: Matthew 3:16-17 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting...

Featured Bible says God hardened Pharaoh’s heart ? ! ? — this is not in keeping with free will.

The best path is to follow the ethics God gave in the Bible. But people don’t want to conform to God’s standards so they invent their own code of ethics that conform to their lives.
